The Saturn Uranus cycle in the 2020s

Expressions of the Saturn Uranus Cycle

Based on the 1988 conjunction phase of Saturn and Uranus this simplified graphic provides timing of each phase as relevant to the mid 2020s and ahead. 

It is shown that we reached the symbolic last quarter square phase in 2021 and further angles arise between the main phase points: August 2025 is a sextile and 2027 has these planets at semisquare Typically each main phase reaches exact angle several times as shown in brackets. Only 2032 in this graphic has a single exact aspect.

Existential Relevance

Due to the existential relevance of the fixed signs and evidence from our lived experience in the mid 2020s it is worthwhile looking at the current phase in the Saturn Uranus cycle that links to the square phase of 2021 3 last quarter squares occurring with Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus

Related to current conditions in 2025 I see 2021 as the starting point of extreme heat and deluge/flooding conditions expressing in recent years under the cycles and patterns that converged in 2021

The synergy of Saturn and Neptune in Pisces began in 2021 while Saturn was still in Aquarius but reaching 0º Pisces midpoint with Neptune.

The necessary ingredients for extreme patterns were locked in by the Saturn-Uranus square phase in 2021 - June and December when Saturn-Neptune midpoints had begun in early Pisces.

Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus had high potential to express as the atmospheric structuring of earth changes

The Saturn-Neptune synergy in Pisces emphasised:

Structural/material amage & destruction through water -deluge and flooding

In 2025 the effects of the Pisces synergy still exist since 2021 even with Saturn and Neptune at times leaving late Pisces and transiting early Aries.

The Heat factor of these planets in Aries only adds to the problem due to generating more atmospheric moisture from hot land and hot oceans and therefore flooding and deluge are sustained in numerous vulnerable locations

In 2025 Saturn and Uranus are in a new phase. Sextile  in Pisces-Taurus [ April ] and Aries-Gemini [July ]

The Pisces-Taurus sextile  phase repeats Jan 2026

The Saturn-Uranus Aquarius-Taurus midpoint  has held an Aries heat signature since early 2022.

By early in 2026 the midpoint has moved to Taurus. Taurus midpoints of these planets are sustained through 2026.

This sustains Earth impacts even after Uranus has left Taurus in April 2026

Feb 2026  Has Saturn exact conjunct Neptune at 0º Aries -the heat signature resumes

Feb 2026 Solar eclipse in Aquarius has Uranus in Taurus at 90º stress -atmospheric role in earth changes is enhanced. Effects could extend into March-April 2026 due to Uranus making a final pass over 28º-29º Taurus in this earth element cycle.

Early 2026 is Southern Hemisphere late summer-autumn. 2025 SH winter is likely to show unusual high temperatures already so a 2026 SH hot tropical Summer with storms and floods is a logical expectation.

Early 2027 sees the challenging midway phase in the Saturn-Uranus cycle. 

The 2 planets are in Aries-Gemini at 45º separation and positioned between the last squares of the 1988 cycle 3 conjunctions late Sagittarius [ on the Galactic Centre] and the new cycle in 2032: 28 Gemini opposing the GC 27 Sagittarius. The Uranus in Gemini factor has the potential to enhance electrical storms and wind flows while Saturn in Aries brings fire and drought issues.

It’s another story working out the GC role re Saturn-Uranus but our transition beyond the confines of our terrestrial mind [Saturn in Sagittarius/Gemini] and into our original cosmic frequency [Uranus in Sagittarius/Gemini ] has probably been underway since 1988

Due to the nature of the changes occurring in the 2020s there is an increasing perception that we are undergoing a massive turning point as a species. Significant world challenges accompany this critical period not only in our lived environments. Many see this as an immense opening to both greater spiritual consciousness and greater cosmic consciousness. These elevated shifts do create a distinction between those happy to follow those paths of development and those determined to remain resolutely attached to the physical/material plane - to money to things to power and self advantage.  It seems the worldly path is going to be most challenged and the selfish will be most bothered by the changes to come. Timeline and Analysis of a Mass Killer

On 15 March 2019 BRENTON HARRISON TARRANT became part of the New Zealand historical record.

He was captured by Police that day in Christchurch. Tarrant had massacred 51 worshippers and injured a further 89 - 40 injured by gunfire at two Muslim mosques. His hostility was directed at a mainly male gathering.

Born in Australia Tarrant is believed to have chosen New Zealand on account of easy entry and ease of access to firearms and an arms licence.

Understanding his formative experiences does not in any way excuse the chosen behaviour -they simply assist in explaining them.

While much of Tarrant’s history is revealed through media and official reports no mainstream method can capture the fine detection of influences that led Tarrant to March 2019 - but astrological analysis can.

Born 27 October 1990 Tarrant’s natal array that can be analysed reveals significant clusters in the survivalist Fixed signs and the existential Cardinal signs

Mars retrograde in Gemini describes

A mind very active on the inner level - processing a lot of information that would empower him: Mars connects to Jupiter and  these planets both connect to Pluto. Gemini indicates a Mutable Mars that is comparatively weak in terms of a masculine sense of self but when bolstered by Jupiter and Pluto the inner Mars can find strength power and fame/infamy/success through external means. For Tarrant this was weaponry testosterone and steroids.

Chiron in Cancer points to

experiences within the family and home - including the reported impact of his parent's separation - that delivered significant emotional trauma. Chiron 29 Cancer is angled semisquare his fragile Mars 14 Gemini.

His Aquarian Moon carrying Chiron's Cancer themes was able to create a dispassionate blank introverted and clinical personality. 

1990 Pre-birth Eclipses

July and August 1990 eclipses gave prominence to his Chiron [solar eclipse] and Jupiter [lunar eclipse] While Jupiter in Leo can express as a lot of love and warmth a sunny joyful personality - the effect of Scorpio and Aquarian factors drained away that option: instead of love the Jupiter in Leo energy merged with Pluto in Scorpio to create the profile of a mass murderer with narcissistic sociopathic traits.

1991 Age 9 months

Baby Brenton was imprinted significantly with his killer drive in July 1991 when transit Jupiter and transit Pluto reached exact 90º square at 17.5º Leo-Scorpio. His natal Pluto at 17 Scorpio was directly triggered on a deep level by something in his infant world.

Two eclipses of July 1991 added further imprints: the 19 Cancer total solar eclipse opposite his natal Saturn 19 Capricorn; The 3 Aquarius lunar eclipse square his natal Venus and Sun at 2º-3º Scorpio.

Whatever happened within the family or home was highly relevant to the development of his personality and behaviour:

Abuse of power. Paternal energy. Relating dynamics. All these played out in his world in July 1991 with lasting effects. The parental relationship did not endure past his young childhood. They separated at an unconfirmed period when he was 7 -10 years old -possibly beginning under the Uranus transit of early Aquarius squaring his Venus-Sun early Scorpio in 1996 and then the Neptune early transit of Aquarius 1999-2000

2010 Father’s suicide

In April 2010 Tarrant’s father stricken already by a serious illness notified 19 year old Brenton that he was committing suicide. The loss of his father was captured in the transit north Node 15.5 Capricorn - exact on his natal  Neptune-Saturn midpoint 15.5 Capricorn and therefore signifies a life-changing event around loss and grief -constituting an existential trauma. By this time Tarrant had already had years since early teens embedded in online chat forums as well as the gaming world. His support system did not exist in the everyday world. His vulnerability to online influences was already set in place.

2010-2013

During this period Jupiter in Aries  Saturn in Libra Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn all made contact at particular points in time with his Uranus 6 Capricorn. The loss of his father was a further diminishment of his sense of manhood and those transiting influences would have severely impacted his ability to relate in a healthy way.

2014-2016

Within this period Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn made contact with his Neptune in Capricorn. This may signify the development of aggressive or revenge drives fuelled by online/gaming scenarios or online discussions - to compensate for the death of his father.

Saturn reaching 14 Sagittarius in 2026 impacted his fragile retrograde Mars 14 Gemini. Reports of his access to “far right extremism say this began in 2014.

2017-2019

Transit Neptune reached 14 Pisces - again a challenge to his Mars. It is likely that Neptune’s influence in gaming fantasy and delusion led him to panic about his weakened inner state and resort to the reported abuse of steroids and testosterone -along with a sustained body-building programme and the purchase of multiple high grade firearms -most of which were purchased in December 2017.

In March-May 2017 Pluto came very close to natal Saturn 19.5 Capricorn and was exact conjunct in January 2018

Tarrant had arrived in Auckland in August 2017. His plan had already been formulated within 2 years in advance of enactment. Getting the firearms the licence a vehicle a rental home in Dunedin and every accessory needed - as well as several trips overseas to eastern Europe — posed no financial impediment. He had inherited a large sum from his father.

Uranus since 2017 at 27-29 Aries had pressured his natal Chiron 27 Cancer and reached a square to his prenatal total solar eclipse 29 Cancer. It is likely that the childhood and suppressed family trauma was triggered right up to his enacted attack. Online ideology around Knights Templar and the era of the Crusades has been referenced in seeing the link to his chosen homicidal mission against Muslim domination.

The Massacre March 2019

Effectively on March 15 2019 Tarrant was at his Saturn Return. 

This milestone for everyone poses a time of choosing paths - follow an adult route or remain in a state of delayed development until the next choice point around the mid 30s. For Tarrant this is April 2027.

He was in his 29th year in 2019 and Saturn on the date of the massacre was 18’50 Capricorn within a whisker of his 19’40 natal Saturn: he experienced the exact return within a prison cell. 

Clearly he had not functioned as an adult in creating and enacting his plan.

Chiron was 0º Aries sesquisquare his natal Jupiter 14 Leo - his freedom sacrificed to his violent impulses. Uranus was 0º Taurus and soon to oppose his Venus-Sun -a process underway since 2018 : sudden changes in his power influence and connections - right up -boosted by indulgence in all his lethal devices and chemical fuel - then right down - all taken away. His no parole life sentence in New Zealand was the first on record.

Brenton Tarrant made choices consistent with the imprints held within his subconscious and related to the personality disorder that he evolved as a survival mechanism.

We don’t enter life with a clean slate: our ancestral imprints are also carried through the parental lineage.

Past life experiences distinct from bloodline lineage are a further source of imprints that have been documented as significantly influential on life choices and behaviours.

AUSTRIA School Massacre: the Ticking Time Bomb

 A young man committed suicide after entering a school northwest of Graz, Austria in the morning of 10 June 2025.

He was in possession of two firearms and had used them to unleash a massacre of mostly teen aged students and at least one adult - and mostly females.

Whether those choices of target were deliberate or circumstantial is as yet unknown.

The perpetrator identified has been referred to as Artur A -described as quiet socially isolated withdrawn and bullied at school.

A range of factors evident in 2025 suggest strongly he was the proverbial ticking time bomb set to be activated and overwhelmed in this year and approaching his birthday.

Tragically this meant the loss of many lives including his own and widespread shock for families friends community and a nation. His karmic legacy will be a very heavy enduring burden.

The following notes speculate on his date of birth information relevant to a Heute news report 11 June 2025 which stated Artur was due to turn 22 in less than 2 weeks.

(No reference to natal chart midpoints)

A significant number of people born 2000-2020 will be vulnerable to destructive psychological distress - including self harm suicide or reactive homicide.

The imprints crossover from late Gen Z (Gen Z identified by generation researchers Jean Twenge and Jonathan Haidt as 1995 -2012 and the Alpha generation extending to the mid 2020s. This means Gen Z born within 2000 to around 2012 and Alphas born around 2012 to end of 2020 are most vulnerable)

Even without a 100% confirmed date of birth through media sources Artur belongs to Jonathan Haidt's Anxious Generation -GenZ. That work is well worth reading for a broader sociological appraisal of this group.

Proposed generation dates from researchers are somewhat imprecise but gain collective agreement eventually in this novel science.

What is clear to research astrologers is that major patterns and cycles are capable of imprinting upon sectors of a generational group and it is these solar system factors that give traits to generational natives.

ALL of it is a unique individual and personally constructed creation derived from our state of consciousness - and what we need to experience in order to learn.

We each get to live a variety lives that offer many different perspectives -male female rich poor powerful weak white black happy sad well sick…every possibility a source of gold to mine for meaning and learning

Why?

So we can through ethical choices evolve spiritually.

This concept of reality means none of my family or friends or neighbours or movie stars or singers or politicians in my life experience have an independent existence. 

Everyone I have experienced is a character designed by me for me. 

Whenever any of my creations interact or communicate with me it is based on the script I have written.

We have immense manifesting powers when embedded in this reality. The only obstacle is not knowing we have that capacity.

And the hardest aspect is wondering why we choose to create people we will struggle to love. People who offend or abuse us or simply annoy us. 

Why? 

So we can confront our simplistic judgements and accept that the bigger story in the human experience is one of working to evolve and rise above each challenge - keeping in mind that we are all flawed. 

The process of a change in consciousness begins with self forgiveness as our accumulated lives hold the good the bad and the ugly - much of which is repressed - but hints of behaviours that hold shame or regret do leak through - sometimes projected onto others with a strong negative emotional weight - such as anger towards those who cheat or kill or abuse their power. The amount of anger in the reaction towards certain types of harmful actions is a likely clue to the hidden personal resonance around such behaviour. 

So we have to dig into our own psyche and find those moral flaws instead of focussing on rejecting external examples.

The 3 step process in preparation for spiritual progress involves:

1. Self integration - embracing all the life characters we are made of - all those who have made errors - accepting the mistakes made as part of learning. Welcoming all parts of us into our whole with love and grace.
2. Recognising self integration as an act of Redemption.
3. Recognising self integration and redemption as the foundation of Freedom.

In this context channel Anne Tucker points to integration as a signifier that personal karma is resolved.
