 Resonances from the Past

One major value of astrology lies in offering indicators of past events in reference to major planetary signifiers -and how their later resonance points can be matched.

In 2022 with the decision of Putin to take Russia into an invasion of Ukraine has stark resonance with events of the late 1930s in Europe as the foreshadowing of World War 2.

Though this was not an authentic Time magazine cover the artist felt it was appropriate to frame it as a worthy subject.

In the historic record there are literally strong resemblances between Hitler's 1938-1939 campaign to re-embrace ethnic Germans living in Bohemia and Moravia regions of Czechoslovakia and claim their land under the premise of their autonomy and what Putin has done in Ukraine

Hitler had announced the amassing of 750,000 troops for "military exercises" on August 12 1938

2022 has seen a very similar playbook evoked.

Russian troops began their buildup in the Spring of 2021 at Ukraine's borders..claiming "military exercises"

In February 2022 Putin stated

“I deem it necessary to make a decision that should have been made a long time ago – to immediately recognise the independence and sovereignty of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic,” Putin said.

3 days later Feb 24 it was clear that a full scale invasion was underway

From an astrological perspective the standout indicator of the resonance between these 2 periods is the transit of Pluto

Pluto was late in Cancer from 1936 until entry into Leo began in 1937 but due to retrograding did not leave Capricorn fully and enter Leo until June 1939.

The opposing position of Pluto in Capricorn at 27 degrees has been relevant since February 2022 and  in the context of the Ukraine invasion.

Pluto was at 27 Cancer multiple times in the late 1930s:  from 1935 to 1938

This whole period was marked by a buildup and release of military aggression -not only involving Germany but including Franco in Spain and Mussolini in Italy.

Far Right activism erupted in Paris in an anti government riot July 1936.

The oppression of Jews was well underway in pre-war 1930s Europe.

Uranus was in Taurus through this same timeframe 1936-1939 and was there until 1942 and it is there [since 2018] again up til 2026
 For most of the war Saturn was in Aries-Taurus

The Cardinal quartet Aries Libra Cancer Capricorn is very much about State family homeland as well as the war and peace energies evoked in the protection and possession of those concepts. 

This combination of energies clearly identifies the state of affairs both in late 1930s Europe and early 2020s Europe.

With Uranus in Taurus in both eras the fixed signs Taurus Scorpio Leo Aquarius are all evoked - land territory power dominance - values around freedom and society.

The Saturn in Aries periods [1937-1940  2026-2028 ] pose the question around the late 2020s in terms of further vulnerability to aggression and war between nation states.

 Regarded as the worst humanitarian crisis involving mass movements of people since WW2, some 12 million Syrians displaced since 2011, 4 million of those into other countries; 3 million displaced from Iraq since December 2013; Rohinaya Muslims from Myanmar and Bangladesh, numbering some 25,000 in the period January-March 2015. 
These are some but not all of the global situations representing floods of people on the move.

Planetary indicators show what may be the peak in middle September 2015
Jupiter in Virgo in exact opposition to Neptune in Pisces.
Jupiter in Virgo is the social networks of people, structured social groupings or demographics. 
Neptune is the energy of flow like water, a tide.
When Jupiter opposes Neptune the flow is extreme.
Neptune is also compassion and so widespread sympathy has been expressed for the refugee masses
September 2015 is noted not only for the human floods but also major flash floods in Japan and the US and any other significantly large body of water in movement. [as I write a M8 quake off Chile has sent a tsunami wave across the Pacific Ocean as well as along the shoreline in the region of Santiago.
Later reports indicate the mass movement of an estimated one million people from vulnerable zones in Chile -another human flood]

Opposing forces grow:
Controls, restrictions, barriers, walls, fences, laws, penalties, strict and austere approaches.
With the return of Saturn to Sagittarius on September 18 2015 the response to people of nationality that is foreign to a host nation becomes much less compassionate in certain locations.

Human streams converge- Mina Sept 24 2015

The Human Flood resulting in mass deaths in Mina, near Mecca, Saudia Arabia during the events of the Haj reflects strongly the prevailing planetary energies of Jupiter opposing Neptune and Saturn in Sagittarius. 

Jupiter and Sagittarius are indicators of spiritual or religious matters. Neptune represents a very similar attunement to the divine and includes devotion and worship. 

Saturn is associated with challenges, tests, difficulties or disasters.

Within the context of the Haj an immense devotional flood of human energy met the blockage and tragic outcome represented by Saturn.
A 5am local time for the tragic event shows Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron prominent on the sunrise-sunset AC-DC axis; Saturn in range of midway between the Sun and Moon.
These positionings amplify and electromagnetically earth the extreme energy in the location at that time.

Across the other side of the world, as this tragedy unfolded

but before the news was known, I observed, while walking 

in the late afternoon, a very large cloud in the blue sky. 

It was the shape of a Satan figure, viewed from behind.

 It formed a lunging position towards the waxing Moon above. 

It swallowed the moon and as the half moon was swallowed 

its full shape was visible, like a round stone 

descending the oesophagus.

Satan has connections to Saturn.

update: Sept 27 the 96 year old, recently restored vessel MV Tuhoe foundered at the mouth of the Waimakariri River. After two nights spent stranded at the river mouth, the boat had taken on board 1m depth of seawater in the hull, the stern dropped and buckling and splitting destroyed the Tuhoe's integrity. An immediate deconstruction process ensued.

The prevailing energies of flood,  [Jupiter-Neptune, assisted by connected energies of Mars and Saturn] amplified by the September 28 Supermoon were all relevant in the ill-fated timing of the journey from Lyttelton -after $200,000 of restoration work, to its Kaiapoi River berth, passing the Waimakariri River en route. A sandbar trapped the boat -and not for the first time - June 1963 was a lucky escape for the Tuhoe when the boat got stuck on the Waimakariri bar but responded to refloating. Maritime mishaps were written in the stars when the boat first launched on April 7 1919.

October sees an intensification of the forces opposing the spreading human flood wherever in the world that this issue is manifesting.
Discord, anger likely with Mars conjoined with Jupiter in mid October.
 Saturn comes increasing closer to an exact 90 degree angle to Neptune


November:
Restraints, legal restrictions, barriers intensify against the forces of flow and of justice, freedom and compassion.  
A polarizing struggle may result with sentiment strong on both sides in affected Eurozone communities -many in support of welcoming refugees, many opposed.
Different outcomes likely in different nations - one taking a hardline restrictive approach while a bordering country opting for tolerance and inclusion.
The Saturn-Neptune standoff intensifies through November and very pronounced as the month ends and December begins.

December:
While significant restriction on refugee movements seem likely to be embedded across the Eurozone by December, it will be worth noting the events surrounding 18-20 December when another energy pattern begins to develop relating to mass movements of people.
New conditions in different locations likely to add to the social causes of displacement. 
Extreme weather conditions likely to unfold in mid December are also a significant part of the picture: drought likely to intensify in October, through November and December but any source of destructive flooding also potentially involved.
Galactic Centre position 27 SAG activated in December 
The Sun and lunar nodal axis will converge to provide a noticeable trigger of extreme weather conditions.


Jupiter conjunct the lunar north node will be triggered by the Sun-Node contact in December as an early indicator of events in January and February 2016 when Jupiter is tight to exact on nodal axis for weeks in duration

It seems likely that a perfect storm of social-political and environmental root causes are converging in the period  December 2015-January-February 2016 with human displacement on a very significant scale being the outcome in diverse global locations and not just restricted to the Eurozone.

The issues of drought and deluge reflect cyclic patterns returning and can be seen in past cycles of El Nino mirroring planetary cycles involving Saturn and Neptune.
When Jupiter combines forces with Neptune the deluge and flooding energies become extreme as noted in September 2015.
May 2016 will see a resumption of the Jupiter-Neptune opposition but Saturn will be at 90 degrees to both planets - Saturn is the restrictive energy, capable of offsetting some of the extremes, but also capable of wrecking or destabilising structures -natural or constructed and so landslips, landslides, riverbanks being breached are typical of Saturn bringing disastrous outcomes in respect of excess water.

The UN is keeping very close observations of the ongoing mass displacement and fears 2015 is still witnessing the tip of the iceberg.
People emerging out of Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan, Eritrea and Somalia constitute the principal affected zones. 
Focus is currently on an extra 10 million who may need to exit Iraq.

June 2013 Supermoon - astro-analysis

June 2013 has a New Moon at 18 degrees Gemini 

on the 8th, plus a Supermoon  on the 23rd

What's in store?

This is a very Gemini New Moon -with Sun, Moon, Mars, Jupiter all ranging from 5-26 degrees so all four planets synergise effects : lots of communicating by all means available -vocal, electronic, written, and lots of reading as well as a surge of energy for short distance travel -especially by car/train/bus and travel or exercise on foot or by bike. But some caution is needed.

NOTE: The period of influence for a New or Full Moon begins days before exact alignment and extends until the next new or full moon event in the following month. This is because the sensitive point [zodiac degree] activated by the solar-lunar effect remains capable of being further triggered by other planets reaching or in angular relationship to that zodiac degree. The Moon itself will do this many times in the lunar month, but even stronger triggers come from the planets from Mars outwards. In any given lunar month, there may be multiple activations of the potentials identified

The New Moon has Saturn in close enough range to bring destructive influences over transport and communications -failures, dysfunctions, meltdowns, accidents - and fatalities -all are more of a risk than usual to those most affected by personal elements at/near 18 Gemini and 5 Scorpio

 [ this grouping also affects 18 degrees in the related signs Pisces, Virgo and Sagittarius and 5 degrees Leo, Aquarius, Taurus]

The nasty side of some people will be expressed through communications and/or vehicles so steer clear of those capable of road rage and poisonous messages

The long-term global upheavals related to power imbalances, power abuse, misuse of power, whether in political or personal contexts, continues to be in effect. This highlights many people in high positions who are falling from grace as well as humans mistreating the defenceless, the suffering of women and children, those bullied, tormented, enslaved, physically harmed - the time has come for the oppressed to find some justice during the extended period of this process - emphasised strongly 2012-2016 due to Pluto square Uranus

There are several strongly connected pairings/groupings in this New Moon lineup:

• Pluto in exact opposition to Mercury in the Cancer-Capricorn polarity puts emphasis on homes, domestic and family issues versus working/professional life.
• This pairing then connects to Jupiter in Gemini - overall a combination with likelihood of mass evacuations from homes in areas under threat from environmental/weather events
•  [update June 10 -thousands forced to leave homes after dam bursts on swollen river Elbe, West Germany. At 7.44 metres, the river is nearly 4 times normal levels report]
• [update June 9 Central European flood emergency which began in the context of the late May lunar eclipse -   now extends into Hungary with the Danube River at record levels.  China also hit by extreme rain and flooding. Western US hit by extreme heat

The environment remains volatile with the same rebalancing theme involving Pluto-Uranus

Places most vulnerable to extreme weather effects are likely to see more through June 2013

In addition Mars is at odds with Neptune [90 degree square at New Moon ] which will aggravate flooding and deluge issues in vulnerable zones.

In summary:
there is much scope for extended extreme weather effects through June 2013 -intensified by the Supermoon effects detailed below.

The Supermoon full moon on the 23rd at 2 Capricorn is is very close proximity to Jupiter

This coincides with the Solstice point and is therefore a seasonal marker, when the sun's position relative to the earth is most direct - this corresponds not only to the light factor [ N hemisphere is in summer mode vs southern in winter] but also to the direct transmission of solar generated particles and high frequency electromagnetic radiation.
Solstice and equinox periods tend to have greater atmospheric and weather turbulence than average so with the added factor of a Supermoon at this June solstice - where the moon is not only aligned with the sun exactly, but being 356,989 kms away at that point, it is the closest orbit moon to earth for 2013 - this amplifies normal solar-lunar gravitational effects and may be seen to associate with wilder weather, more seismicity derived from added strains, pressures, forces and chaotic elements in the global weather system

Jupiter's role being very close to the sun and opposite the Moon at the Solstice

provides even greater intensification of environmental energetic effects i.e. the capacity for weather to go extreme in vulnerable places. [in fact on June 19 Jupiter is in total eclipse, being positioned behind the Sun. Most important is the direct alignment at 28 Gemini of these big solar system players]

In addition: the Lunar Nodes at 16 Scorpio

Are in strong connection to the full moon and related effects

Scorpio is the energy of endings, transformations and literal death and so the fatal risk level is elevated in the lunar month from June 21.

With the Supermoon in the signs Cancer-Capricorn 

all things connected to homes, families and parenting are in the spotlight. 

Destructive affects are anticipated - for some only impacting the physical structural house itself, but overall having life-changing affects on families.

Peoples work-life balance is under scrutiny too and some will find their priorities radically flipped.

At the very least many are subject to significant changes, endings, losses.
