Full Moon February 2012

The February 7 2012 full moon in Aquarius-Leo has Messy Relationship Stuff written all over it.
With Aquarius the sign of friendship and non-romantic bonds and Leo being the falling in love sign this dilemma existing between these two will arise for many.
Is it loving friendship or sexual love? Are we better off being friends? What is love?
If this was merely an opportune time to be philosophical then no tears would be shed, but with Uranus, Saturn, Pluto and Neptune all bringing layers of intensity to the situation, do not expect the period Feb 4-March 7(lunar month period of influence) to be simple, easy or uncomplicated.
Of course exactly the opposite prevails.
Tears, anger and mental/emotional shock are indicated. Issues about secrecy, dishonesty, confusion, selfishness are prominent with sudden changes, estrangement and separation on the cards for those strongly caught up in this pattern of planetary energies. 
For many this will be a Youth versus Age issue - meaning the desire arising to do your own thing (Aquarius) even if it is selfish and irresponsible in the context of your present commitments (partner, children) will be at loggerheads with the duties of a mature lifestyle - so this could be particularly an issue for those in mid-life, looking for that last gasp of escapist, fantasy filled romance. Freedom versus control; rebellion versus responsibility; me or us?
In the Aquarian era we presently exist in, the emphasis is more on the importance of friendship and networking over one-to-one romantic love.
This Full Moon will reinforce for many this shift in relating preference.

Since astrological energy combinations have numerous potential manifestations it is useful to add that in New Zealand, this Full Moon phase will see a political gathering at Waitangi in recognition of our country's founding Treaty. Waitangi Day is February 6.
The newly elected National government, personified by Leo John Key ( August 9 1961)  is likely to face dissent and protest more intensely than usually seen at this Aquarian-influenced annual event.
John Key has effectively goaded his Maori Party coalition partner over whether Treaty considerations should be implicit in government policies. My sense is a lot of anger (Uranus in Aries) is building in Maoridom over John Key's duplicity (Neptune) and that a heated protest will greet him on February 6 2012. In this context, Aquarius is the group (Maori) and Leo is the Leader (Prime Minister).  Messy Relationship Stuff will indeed be the outcome politically for John Key.

[update Feb 9 A very public (Leo) political spat likened to a "bickering couple" (Saturn stressing Venus) With Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker labelled a clown ( Leo) by government minister Gerry Brownlee. this is indeed a messy relationship that has all the hallmarks of a power struggle involving  the egos of Leo-Aquarius  wanting to be boss and not bossed! This is a great example of  further dimensions to this signature pattern for February-March - it is not only a private emotional relationship effect but also any relationship involving a working, cooperative dynamic ]

Though this analysis focusses primarily on the relationship aspects of this full moon pattern, there remain further potentials fitting the match. The best analogy for this comes from the kitchen: any baker knows that a collection of basic ingredients can be combined to produce a variety of products . The same applies to the combining of planetary energies -they can produce the equivalent of a muffin, a scone, a pikelet, or bread - depending upon the processing of those energies. So when trying to anticipate outcomes of planetary combinations, the question is will we get a muffin, a loaf of bread, a scone or a combination?
Having said that, it is important to add that in this lunar phase the potential for water related tragedy is sustained since the same pattern in recent lunar phases reported on (see references).
Here Sun, Mercury (transport) & Neptune (maritime) in a difficult position with Pluto (tragedy) have a signature of a tragedy involving maritime transport (news Feb 2 Papua New Guinea ferry sinks with severe loss of life anticipated)
In addition Saturn in close connection to Neptune causes issues difficulties [Saturn] regarding water/maritime/oil or gas [Neptune] issues (news Feb 7 Maori seek the right to water resources within the Treaty of Waitangi. Debate ensues over  'who owns water' ......news Feb 8 NZ Navy barge hits rocks, takes on water. While no loss of life (Pluto) is involved -  Saturn, is implicated in the nature of the event - Saturn corresponds to rocks)

In addition whenever a new or full moon is strongly linked to the influences of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, especially if in combination of two or more of these, then earth stresses occur with resultant seismic/volcanic and extreme weather outcomes in places resonating with the pattern.
This Feb 2012 full moon does have a complex array including Neptune, Pluto, Uranus and Saturn in close enough range to cause such physical environmental issues to arise.

Four decades of dictatorship by the Assad family is the root cause of dissent and consistent with global unease about abuse of power, oppression & inequality. This political dimension is reflected globally in trouble spots where social justice is extremely compromised by oppressive regimes.

See how tightly the energy is contained, with 2 bunches and all within half of the circle.

Knowing that the ascendant degree corresponds to the earthly manifestation of the chart's potential the point of 19Aries41 was in exact semisquare to Pluto in the 2nd, 8 minutes before this event chart set for 2.10 am local time. Mars, and Jupiter have the Moon as their midpoint and this highly energised bunch are in strong conflict with the Mercury-Chiron-Sun bunch in Gemini.

The midpoints are always full of hidden power. Here Saturn sits right in the middle of the Jupiter-Asc energies and Saturn is on the Venus-Node midpoint. Chiron is the Saturn-Neptune midpoint. All of these factors being indicators of suffering and negative outcomes for any beings caught up in the aftermath.  

Tribal people the world over have personified earth energies as the outrage of  their gods punishing the errant ways of humans. Even European culture carried such notions well into the renaissance era, until the discipline of science proposed other reasons for extreme weather, volcanoes and earthquakes. The scientific view holds sway over  religious or tribal views through the modern world but there is cause to reconsider the scientific world view which struggles to understand unseen energies.

Despite the contributions of Einstein and other quantum physicists, the mainstream view of reality is still largely classical and deeply attached to materiality. Despite decades of dedicated research, the past century has failed to achieve the Theory of Everything and a complete, unifying understanding of the known forces of gravity, electomagnetism and the nuclear forces.  The point is these excellent investigative minds are missing something, overlooking something and that something may very well relate to ancient knowledge, long since dismissed.  One intriguing global awareness amongst pre-industrialized societies is the acknowledgment of the power of natural forces and the attribution of personality or emotion to these energies. This so called primitive belief may not in fact be misguided. Perhaps the language or conception is primitive or simplified, but the notion itself of unseen forces co-existing alongside us, being distressed and disturbed by our ignorant disruption of the environment, is worth exploring further.  This acknowledgment is in play when Maori in New Zealand say prayers or bless projects. Being a culture only recently colonized ( NZ Treaty of 1840), Maori have been able to begin renewing their cultural practices following decades of discouragement. The NZ government regularly employs the services of Maori to provide cultural services which entail spiritual protocol. Some retain traditional references and others are Christianized. It is the former which are of interest.

In an early C20th century NZ Maori conversation book the question is posed: "Did not the gods assume human form?" which is answered: "They appeared under the form of reptiles, butterflies, whirlwind, etc..."  The Maori genealogy of gods shows gods identified for weather, earthquakes, reptiles etc as well as the well known gods for war, the forest and the sea. The most well known creature of Maori mythology ( apparently derived historically from the shark) is the taniwha. 

So in New Zealand we have on hand the remnants of an ancient culture, as found in many locations worldwide, who hold strong beliefs concerning the power of nature - whether that be a condition like wind or an event like a quake, or even in the form of a creature - to have what is interpreted as intelligence to act/create/destroy. 

The notion of spirit beings being able to impact upon the living is also a widespread global belief. 

When considered together, these ideas reflect a strong human acknowledgment of unseen factors that co-exist with people in their everyday world.  The idea that when people do bad things, the gods get enraged is held to be true in this worldview. Human energy impacting on everything else and not realising, through lack of consciousness, that anything else truly exists. Perhaps we have entered the age when this blindness will be sorely tested and when many will awaken.

The recent news re anti-matter experiments is intriguing in this context, since the question as to why the observable universe is filled with matter -yet antimatter could be exactly what is in all so-called empty space around us.

Hone Harawira: ambitions thwarted?

Hone Harawira likes the cut and thrust of political life and as the son of a long-standing political activist, he has a suitable genealogy. According to the omens indicated on his birthday let's see what confirms this.
A little bit of digging has unearthed the supplied birth-date, though not birth time, for Hone Harawira, firebrand NZ Maori politician.

Firstly, being a Capricorn he is well placed to climb. The mountain goat symbolises the hardy, nuggety stamina that serves people well in political life. The view from the top is preferred over that from the valley floor.

Hone is a youthful looking 56 years of age in 2011, with a birth date of January 6 1955. Lacking an exact time of birth only a partial analysis is possible, but the main interest at present is his political future, so that will be considered as well.

His political or at least executive/management destiny is confirmed with the north node also in Capricorn -so in one way or another this is what he is meant to be doing -leading, guiding, managing - but to do it well the requirements are a mature sense of being an elder, a kaumatua, a guiding paternal hand. Hone has the potential to do his best work in his last decades of life. (Late developer)

He is aided by the depth coming from Saturn in Scorpio = capable of transforming himself from irresponsible to responsible, but the Scorpio energy at its worst is lethal, destructive, vicious.

Mental energy is strong and abundant with the likelihood of a Gemini moon at birth and Jupiter in close opposition to Mercury. 
Add in an exact conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus and there is the signature of an unconventional thinker, sudden changes of mind, a dislike of restraint, restriction, conformity and protocol -though of course these are exactly the keywords of Capricorn -so this swinging disposition between these extremes is Hone's hallmark -already well proven. 
It is in effect the internal struggle between the rebellious youth archetype and the wise old man, generated by early conflict with the father figure.

Further contradictions are apparent in his Venus being in passionate Scorpio but Mars in Pisces. There's a lot of feeling there, Venus showing his relating style and Mars his sense of manhood - but in Pisces which is a very soft place for a man's Mars to be ( strongest is a fire sign like Aries), so in effect perhaps he and we are lucky he does not have any more firepower on board ( Pluto in fiery Leo links to four of the planets mentioned). 
Mars in Pisces shows a need to steer clear of drink, drugs, addictions, as well as subterfuge or deceit - these being the psychological crutches for a wounded male psyche. His best option is to cultivate a strong spiritual motivation as a way to bring forth his compassionate and humanitarian side into the political sphere. 
This is more powerful than acting from anger or rebellion.

So fast forward now to the just announced by-election date, June 25 2011, which will be Hone's testing ground for his newly formed  Mana ( authority, control, influence, prestige, power = all keywords describing Hone's potentials) political Party

What indicators stand out to give a clue either way regarding the outcome for him? ( since full data on him is missing)

Firstly no mistake, 2011 is a big year ( a turning point) for Hone Harawira in terms of his destiny.
Pluto is sending him a big power surge regarding his political transformation. 
( Pluto conjunct north node in Capricorn). 
But that doesn't automatically translate as ambitions met: it can also result in ambitions changed. 
Transformation is the energy of death-rebirth - the mythical phoenix from the ashes. Hone has now burnt his bridges, very appropriately, as he enters the tunnel of rebirth. The big question is whether he will remain "unborn" or "reborn" in 2011. 
He has an inner achilles heel that is a sabotaging element, undermining his quest for power and this is the critical internal weakness he has to overcome in order to fulfil his political ambitions and be "the man of mana". 
2011 is his chance to bury that paternal ghost, but the resolution opportunity is not till Sept-Oct. 
The potential is clearly there to seek high office but ultimate political power may not be within Hone Harawira's grasp. 
Wanting and getting are not automatically the same thing.

Looking at both June 25 - by-election and November 26 2011, the General Election in respect of the partial data, it seems there is more energy against than for his success at this time. 
Wait and see if he has a card up his sleeve (Mars in Pisces theme) that will rejig the odds.

Frustrated ambitions are on the cards, even looking ahead to the 2014 election framework, [but see update May 2014] so rather than succumb to bitterness and anger, working in a more humble way at a local level would be a healing pathway for Hone.

John Minto may stand as a Mana Party candidate in November 2011. Save your $$$ John, the forces are against you. ( Saturn exact quincunx Sun at election time, based on a birth date of 16 May 1953, no birth time known)

Update May 18 2011


...and yet another John wants to be in - long-term politician John Banks wants Epsom for ACT, because even though he disagrees with their fiscal management he still wants to support National to win in November 2011. So what does a glimpse through a keyhole offer in terms of Bank's chances for election as an MP. Based on a birthdate of December 2, 1946, and lacking birth time data, the picture is incomplete but some assessments still possible.  Naturally ambitious, on account of his desperate upbringing, his energies are activated in many respects around election time, with contradictory indications. He'll be fired  up and feeling very positive and optimistic, but find the going tough -at almost age 65, (at least he can opt for the pension come December) Banks is an old warhorse who wants to relive old glories. There are positive and negative indicators. Though, with a lack of complete data to go on, it is not overwhelmingly clear which will win out:  intuition suggests the forces against him will prevail.

Update June 26

Hone Harawira won the Te Tai Tokerau by-election, 2011, against closest rival Kelvin Davis by 5611 to 4644, about a 6.3% differential, at the close of vote counting, not including Specials. This result, though a win, was not a decisive mandate, considering  Harawira won by around a 32% margin in the 2008 General Election result. Effectively the forces against Harawira have grown markedly, though not enough to unseat him. The next test will come on November 26 when the challenge against him will be stronger. It all depends which of two significant forces wins out: the one capable of transforming him into a true leader or the other which will crush him on account of his fractious relationships.

update May 27 2014 Hone Harawira announces an alliance with Kim Dotcom's Internet Party

The 2014 NZ General Election has already been rescheduled for a much earlier date than usual -Sept 20 is the voting day this year.
The prevailing energy is much more significant for Harawira in September 2014 giving him more promising influences surrounding his political aspirations.
Energy though is malleable into many alternate forms so the actual use he makes of what is on offer depends on his capacity to make the best of it.
If he has reached the required level of psychological preparation to embrace a fully adult leadership role, then 2014 offers him the opportunity to operate from a reborn sense of empowerment and inner strength.
