Firstly a clarification re key concepts

Saturn is the key planet defining and structuring the world of form -the 3-dimensional reality we function in. The world we are born into and where we live briefly as we navigate all sorts of challenges intended to enrich our essence.

What we learn and refine in the Saturnian world is the gift we feed back into the Neptunian world

The contrast between the two worlds is like that between night and day 

The Neptunian world has no concept of isolation or separation and none of the negative traits that emerge in the form world. In the formless dimension waveforms weave an immense energetic tapestry based on consciousness alone.

Saturn and Neptune when experienced on our planet - like other planetary pairs have a purposeful cycle and a large part of that purpose is to merge the consciousness of the formless world with the way we function in the form world.

All authentic spiritual teachers have this as their purpose because humans are more truly a spiritual essence than a biological being.

It is very clear that the reality of who we are can be rapidly buried and forgotten once the terrestrial mind overrides universal consciousness.

The necessity is to reawaken and function on the basis of our underlying consciousness - but as the record stands -a collective recall can take  more than two thousand years and periods of significant regression are cyclic.

Chiron

Just like Saturn and Neptune -everyone has the Chiron factor in their birth chart. The degree to which Chiron has life-long detrimental effects depends on how integrated it is with other factors in the birth chart - how many connections are made how challenging those connections are and how much healing is achieved.

The asteroid Chiron on a psychological level points to significant  painful harmful or traumatising early life experiences that mould our personality and behaviour. Experiences such as abandonment adoption violence abuse deprivation hunger feeling unseen ignored unloved - often the byproducts of inadequate parenting  - imprinted upon the personality in childhood have major consequences in how a person self expresses: some are crushed limited defeated and some follow an over-compensation route to mask their pain. 

All sorts of addictive or escapist behaviours

 are commonplace when this world is found

 to be dangerous or traumatising

Tracking the Saturn Neptune Chiron pattern of the last century 1920s-2020s

February 2026 was a Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0º Aries

A Saturn-Neptune cycle begins every 35-37 years. 

Previously 1989 1952 1917

Paired planets follow phases just like the Sun-Moon cycle - the main angles being 0º 90º 180º as in New Moon first Quarter Full Moon Last Quarter - but in-between angles are also capable of activating effects

What is clear looking at the…

…is that over the past century observed

Chiron in Taurus has consistently followed the Saturn-Neptune angular connection 

-as if these 2 patterns are in lockstep

Something’s very matchy here about our relationship 

with the material physical financial world

 and how secure we feel

The stockmarket crash of 1929 saw the onset of the Great Depression extending into the 1930s

1974-75 1980-82 peak years of global recessions in that period  

The late 2020s are by 2026 signalling echoes

 of past cycles

Now the combined effects of the 3 factors can be seen to involve a mismatch between the Saturnian form-world we have created and our blissful Neptunian essence = who we are spiritually - and the downward spiral that is activated when that conflict of values reaches a tipping point.

Chiron in Taurus on repeat every 50 years [even while Saturn and Neptune cycles start in various different signs -last 4 being Leo Libra Capricorn Aries does point to Cardinal sign dominance in the last 3 and the big lesson of Cardinal since 1952 = Fix the Imbalances =  in all aspects of life ] 

As written before -a mix of Fixed sign [such as Taurus] and Cardinal sign [Aries cycle of Saturn-Neptune]  energies highlights deep-seated survivalist and existential panic. No surprise that war and regional conflicts emerge under the combined Fixed-Cardinal themes.

Chiron in Taurus points not only to physical-bodily vulnerabilities = feeling wounded wrecked or disabled in response to the psychological pressures of poverty poor nutrition hunger - but also underlying feelings of insecurity instability lack of comfort -merging with feeling unworthy - not valued enough to be looked after in this world - and triggered by loss of income unemployment being laid off due to closures

These experiences will have afflicted many in the Great Depression era as well as in recessionary and high inflation recessions flowing from the 1970s into the 1980s

Many face such experiences during the 2026-2034 Chiron in Taurus cycle [ even though Chiron at times will dip back into Aries again and enter Gemini briefly before Taurus is completed] see detailed tables here

The purpose is not punishment -no matter how punishing it can be felt. The intention is to collectively learn how to live differently in this world and in relationship with this planet and with each other in ways that restore balance take more care avoid abuse and exploitation turn away from excess and greed. 

A huge shift in values is needed: living the high life no longer an appropriate role but living the good life being top priority.

February 2018 stock market plunge

Opinions on the US stock market plunge which began Feb 5 are variable - including computer-programed trading, concerns about a coming rise in inflation and interest rates and maybe even the Federal Reserve sell-off of assets.
The Guardian calls it a "mood swing" and even a "fat finger" mistake..as well as...
It is puzzling to analysts that the money coming out of the markets is not necessarily going into government treasuries or other safe havens. That suggests investors are also simply taking out profit after an intense market rally at the beginning of this year.

Curiouser and curiouser is the situation with analysts proposing a handful of reasons and no one really sure which led the charge.

Here's another take on it:

The amount of Chinese money fuelling the global economy has to be factored in.
Chinese are strong believers in predictions regarding the good luck/bad luck cycles.
On February 4 2018 the start of Spring occurred in China.
This denotes the new annual cycle
2018 is the Year of the Dog.
2018 in the cycle of elements is an Earth year
Dog is an Earth element energy.
This makes 2018 a "double earth" year.
Double always indicates some kind of double trouble - some people and some aspects of life have a tougher year than usual.

The earth element is associated the planet Saturn which also indicates positive and negative outcomes.

Stock markets and economies are seen by the Chinese to have an energy like water, the undulating waves.
The earth element is regarded as a negative for the stock market and in economic matters.
Double earth means significant difficulty.

Strong earth energy sucks up water in this battle of the elements..meaning less liquidity, drying up [also drought]
So 2018 under Chinese astrological indicators for economic matters has an energy of conserving, saving, fiscal restraint - not rampant spending, not risk-taking. [ this is consistent with the indicators in Western astrology under Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus.

Did Chinese New Year panic play a role?

2018 is also forecast to be tough for Donald Trump as being born in the Year of the Dog with lots of fire and earth energy. When more earth energy occurs as in a double earth year, Trump is left even more unbalanced as excess of an element is always detrimental. October is when the extent of his difficulties peak according to
Woody Chan's outlook for 2018.

China sees itself as the centre of the world and with a difficult outlook foreseen in the East direction [from China]  this could indicate political & socio-economic conditions deteriorating in the US in the year from Feb 2018.

The total lunar eclipse of Jan 31/Feb 1 remains in play until August so the stock market issues have also been activated under the complex array of conditions involving the range of planets in tight angular  connection to that eclipse.

With current factors in effect and knowing what factors are unfolding in the short term next few years it would seem more likely than not that market "corrections" will not be unusual and could tend towards significant as our relationship with money and materialism continues to be altered.

Financial astrology is another specialist field and not the one known best to the author.
One such specialist Ray Merriman considers this period the start of The Great Reset -and whatever factors he is using for that conclusion...the writing is generally on the wall as we all collectively head towards the end of a 200 year socio-economic age which officially ends just before the close of December 2020 allowing the new 200+ year cycle to be in place as 2020 concludes.
For some years we have been in the transition period -where two contrasting idealogies run alongside each other..so the new is in fact already identifiable as more and more virtual and digital artefacts replace the solidly physical...as people begin to declutter and have a smaller terrestrial footprint..these are everyday examples of a massive conceptual shift [one the world of fine arts embraced decades ago]..this is the shift from earth-focussed [physical, material] energy to dematerialised, miniaturised, conceptualised, digitised air energy - which will create a very differently lived lifestyle in the many decades until the new transition period arises from 2160, heading towards the water cycle fully embedded by 2219 - another long cycle -this time bearing the themes of our shared humanity..our connection to the breadth of existence. It seems a long way to go to reach home.

New Zealand January 1935 & January 2018 - why are they matched?

High temperatures in the New Zealand summer in January 2018 have been linked by meteorologists to the last such period of heatwave -January 1935

Since looking at environmental conditions is one of my special areas of research my interest was piqued - and even a quick look at the prevailing cycles brings up very clear connections between these 2 periods.

Unlike standard weather forecasting, the method that is used here takes into account that our tiny blue marble planet operates within a massive system - and a system in which Earth is not the driver.

2018 began with a full supermoon on Jan 2 and ends with another supermoon on Jan 31 

With the moon cycles being in emphasised states [supermoons, eclipses] arguably Jan 1935 and Jan 2018 both show very strong potentials for extreme conditions -but not only due to the lunation cycle -but also on account of the standout planetary matches featuring the potent outer planets Pluto, Neptune, Uranus and Jupiter which frequently feature in groups as effective agents when extreme conditions arise.

Effective refers to angular position -and this is given detailed explanation in the linked post.

The explanation will repeatedly argue that the degree position 27 [and its trigger angle 12] in particular [ with orbs of allowance allowing for 25-29 degrees -often coupled with 10-14 degrees ] commonly, consistently, repeatedly arise in times of extreme environmental conditions.

Looking at any possible activator amongst the standard planets the present dates again reveal this:

Analysis of these energies to determine themes is what is undertaken after looking at the consistently recurring mathematics and the planetary indicators.This is achieved by understanding the type of conditions likely to arise under the prevailing forces - what those forces are and what type of energy they are expressing..
Again this is too detailed to repeat here and because this is a personally-developed skill based on decades of knowledge in my field of analysis - but the basics are covered in earlier posts.

Intense destructive heat in relevant zones - eg more typically southern hemisphere summer - as a pattern was locked in at New Year 2018 and posted on this site as a forecast for New Zealand - using just these methods - no meteorological modelling -  in a dedicated post of December 6

It is highly unlikely that standard forecasters will give an ounce of credence to this method but the truth remains that it works...consistently... for the past, the present or the future..if you know what to look for.

The cycle in question is the multiple matches between Jan-Feb 1999 and Jan Feb 2018.
The conclusion reached:
Even without detailing full fine analysis it is clear that the turbulent forces will barrel on, combining and amplifying through January 2018 and through February 2018 with severe weather storms and severe environmental structural collapse events including avalanches, landslides, tectonic plate movement all potentials particularly through February.
All or any natural element is considered to be in the frame - wind, water, fire, earth - in forceful movement

  Several posts on this site, especially since June 2015, have noted the economic situation facing China.

In one June 2015 report here, this exact issue of commodities freefall was forewarned:

This does not mean the damage will be contained within the 4 month period of 2015. And it does not only refer to an isolated effect restricted to China, but China is significant to the world.
The commodities shock then flows into a 3 year period of inhibited growth [ in terms of produce, production, expansion, development]
After that the real austerity energies are laid in place during a 3 year period until December 2020

1924-1932 has many cycles in common with 2012-2020
Boom preceded bust in the US housing market of the 1920's.
Florida investments started to get bad press by January 1925. By 1926 the bust was clear. 
The downturn energies in play affecting material asset investments like land and real estate kicked in in late 1924 and remained strong until December 1926. 
Then the cycle of inhibited growth began, lasting 3 years, extending just past the big market crash of October 1929.
From December 1929 the austerity energies were embedded - during a period of almost 3 years.
 

In terms of another longer global cycle, in July 2015 we are at the equivalent energy point to April 1932 even though a great global economic depression is yet to unfold.
The period April 1935 to April 1942 has an energy equivalent to
April 2019 to April 2026.
1935 saw bank closures in the US, the dropping of the gold standard, economic depression was obvious. People were forced to changed their relationship with money and materialist values.
This timeline shows the US economy had widespread impact on citizens through the 1930s, only lifting with the US late entry into WW2 and the war economy uplift beginning in 1942.

A longer cycle having a powerfully transformational effect on peoples families and their homes and housing covered the period 1914-1939.
An equivalent energy exists in the period 2008-2025.

In a very globalized world environment in this millennium, the cycles of this era will contain many reflections of the early decades of the 20th century, in many diverse locations -not just China- but will not unfold exactly in the same sequence or with exactly the same outcomes.
What is clear is that globalization does have a relationship to contagion in market forces.
Climate effects are also of great significance with regard to economies: China is very vulnerable to extremes of flooding and drought as noted by authors of the study THE 1920S DROUGHT RECORDED BY TREE RINGS AND HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS IN THE SEMI-ARID AND ARID AREAS
OF NORTHERN CHINA:
"we show that there had been significant growth decline in the 1920s and early 1930s throughout a wide area of northern China. This growth depression is indicative of a severe and sustained drought in the 1920s and early 1930s.
This period coincides with the inhibited growth period noted earlier for the 1920's and so a largely agricultural effect is known to have occurred then.
Sustained drought, crop failures led to disease and widespread famine in 1927-29:

Swarms of locusts added to further losses and misery. Epidemics of disease rampaged uncontrolled. The proverbial perfect storm.
El Nino conditions in 2015 are already pointing to heat and drought with Northern China low on drinking water.

El Nino events relevant to the above study occurred in the periods 1925-1926, 1930-31, 1932-1933, 1939-1940, 1940-1941, 1941-1942.
The strongest event in recent decades was the 1997-98 El Nino.
Weak El Ninos occurred 2004-2007, Moderate in 2009-10.
The return of El Nino for 2015-2016 is potentially strong to very strong & if a run of El Nino years occurs as in 1930-1933 or 1939-1942 then the flow-on economic effect will also be sustained.

Extreme Weather: cycles & indicators

There are various forms of record keeping and data sets which enable the detection of repeated cycles of relevance to issues of weather, climate & extreme events affecting our planet.

For data there are online ephemeris such as astro.com or Sun to Sedna if you do not have a print version.

When researching significant storms, hurricanes, earthquakes, drought,floods or any extreme natural or weather event,patterns related to cycles are evident.

Be assured though that no one single indicator is involved. It is more common to see several reinforcing factors amplifying the energy into a tipping of the balance.

Balance is the most relevant keyword - when there is too much or too little of a relevant factor - eg temperature, moisture -then the system responds

System is equally important since everything is part of a system -from the smallest quantum environment to the seemingly limitless galactic space. Forgetting that Planet Earth is part of the Solar System is the first big error people make in trying to understand our environment.

To the right side, at right angles to both positions is Uranus -said to be squaring the 3 aligned planets.

The data for the 1931 earthquake is:

Jupiter 12 Cancer

Saturn 17 Capricorn

Uranus 12 Aries

All of these positions average out or meet at a midpoint around 15.5 degrees.

The extra factor is the opposing points at which the moon is crossing the ecliptic -termed the lunar nodes

Posiions given are:

16 Aries, 16 Libra

The four zodiac signs involved - Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn comprise a set of signs and when in full alignment form the Cardinal Cross

Historic records show Jupiter and Uranus aligned together in conjunction are enough to activate powerful natural forces.

They also have potent effects when arranged at right angles to each other as in 1931

[ the 2011 February quake in Christchurch NZ & the March 2011 Japan quake/tsunami all occurred in the wake of the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Pisces -which was in effect when the sequence started in September 2010.

Feb  21 2011 also saw an exact Mercury-Mars-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius

March 2011 saw Uranus at right angles to the lunar nodes

Jupiter was also at right angle to Pluto

Extra energy is supplied by:

The addition of other planets in the mix [ 1931 has Pluto and Saturn]

A single or multiple planets connected to the lunar nodes [1931 has Uranus in conjunction to the north Node; Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn all at right angles to the nodal axis]

The historic records are full of researchable dates which show ingredients such as these over and over.

Another commonly seen sensitive trigger factor seems to be 25-29 degrees in the Mutable set of signs [Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces,Virgo]

The direct connection here is that our galaxy is positioned at 27 Sagittarius [GC] and when significant planets [Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto or the lunar nodes in particular] activate 27 SAG it coincides with galactic forces funneled into earth's atmosphere

The mutable sign group - Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces,Virgo are more connected to water events

The Cardinal set -  Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn

are associated with atmospheric events involving wind =storms, hurricanes as well as earth structural events

September 1930 Dominican Republic hurricane - Jupiter in Cancer at right angle to Uranus in Aries [repeats March 2014]

August 1900 Galveston Hurricane - Saturn opposite Neptune,28-29 Gemini-Sag both activating the GC . Flooding was immense.

August 2005 -Katrina - Jupiter activates the lunar nodes in Aries-Libra. Jupiter-Uranus positions are centred* at 27 SAG -activating the GC. Extreme wind, extreme flooding.

[ *the term midpoint is commonly used to identify the position at which any set of energies has a combined or amplified effect: in August 2005 Jupiter at 15 Libra and Uranus at 9 Pisces revealed their hidden synergy when the midpoint of their positions was calculated to be exactly at the galactic centre position 27 Sagittarius.

A midpoint is often found to be active where no other obvious combinations are in effect]
